Amanda and Nick| Louisville Wedding Photographer | Kelly Beach Photography

It’s been a while since I have blogged a wedding that I photographed, but I’m getting excited about the super creative weddings I have on my schedule this year and just thought I would share this one from a couple of months ago!  Amanda and Nick had probably the rainiest wedding day ever but even that couldn’t put a damper on ANYTHING! Everyone still had tons of fun and the love and joy in the air overpowered the rain 🙂 I LOVED the colors Amanda chose and the setting of her parents’ farm fit their style so perfectly!  We even lucked out and got about a 20 minute break from the rain just in time to get our posed shots! Such a beautiful, fun day!!

I will still be booking a few weddings for this year so if you would like to reserve your wedding date with me, email me at or call me at 502-767-4101!

One thing I love about shooting weddings is that I never really know what to expect when I get there.  It’s so cool to see how all of the planning and details the brides have talked about at our meetings come together to be these amazing events.  Cara and Brandon’s was nothing short of awesome.  From the ceremony on the hill overlooking the river at sunset to the yacht strung with Christmas lights that they made their exit on, every detail was amazing.  Seeing how cute they are together and how they seem to just adore each other just topped it all though 🙂  And lemme tell ya, this group knew how to party!  I LOVE when people let loose on the dance floor at a wedding instead of being too embarassed.  SO much fun!! (You’ll see 😉 )

I love weddings with style.  When the dress looks like something straight off a runway with an amazing hair piece to accent it and navy blue coach flats instead of the usual white heels. When black Chucks are matched with tuxes instead of shiny leather shoes.  When the altar is an enormous old oak tree in a field and the programs are printed on paper fans to beat the afternoon heat.  When the porch of the reception hall is illuminated by candles in Ball jars next to bunches of fresh wildflowers and flag streamers made of triangles of fun papers criss-cross above you.  The couple, just like the entire wedding, were a breath of fresh air – as cute, happy and original as it gets :).

Did you miss me?? 🙂 I know it has been quite a while since I last posted!  It has been so so hard to put off blogging for a while while I get things caught up but I just couldn’t wait any longer to post pictures from this awesome  awesome wedding!  Brittany has been so patient waiting for me to get these up so hopefully it will be worth the wait for her! 🙂 They definitely had a memorable wedding! We’ve all been to weddings that are kind of stuffy and formal, but Matt and Brittany really made things fun for everyone.  They have such a great sense of humor and they had so many funny and light-hearted moments the entire day. It’s been keeping me smiling while I finish up their pictures and I know none of their guests will forget how much fun this wedding was! 🙂  So here is just a small sample of the day! 🙂

Ashley & Austin | Louisville KY engagement photographer

Love must be in the air – this is the third engagement session I’ve had in a month! 🙂  But it’s the perfect season for it especially at Bernheim Forest, where we shot Ashley and Austin’s engagement pictures.  The wildflowers were blooming like crazy! It was beautiful and a perfect setting  for this couple.  You know when you meet some people and you just know right away that you’re going to like them and that they are truly genuinely nice people??  That’s how these guys are.   They have so much going for them too – both of them are set to graduate from college in the spring right before they get married and start grad school.  And to top it all off… they’re U of L fans!!! Yay!!! 😉  Even if they weren’t I wouldn’t mind :).  I had a great time getting to know them and I was just floored and so touched when about a week later, I’m getting ready to leave for a photo session and they pull up on the street with a gift for me! 🙂  I had had to change the time of our session around and it was blistering hot the night we did pictures so they got me the most awesome awesome U of L thermal cup with a lid to take with me to my sessions!   I just can’t get over how thoughtful it was and how they went out of their way to bring it to me!   (And they were right, ice like WILL NOT melt in this thing! Even after sitting in the hot car for an hour!).  I really feel honored to be their wedding photographer and look forward to working with them more! 🙂
